Check your ethernet NIC and switching HUB, please.
In the EIT's boot floppy, only the following NIC drivers are supported:
3c59x, 8139too, 8390, eepro100, net2k-pci, pcnet32, tulip
If there is no problem about the driver, it is better to try another HUB.
