/etc/hosts file contain IP address and hostname.
Syntax for /etc/hosts is:
    IP_address canonical_hostname aliases
For more datail, please read:
    % man 5 hosts
If you want to set up NIS server on server, you can use configNIS command.
Please read 3 NIS set up in EIT document:
    /opt/score/doc/html/en/installation/eit.html

You don't need to use DNS, if you don't use DNS, please exec RIT with -nisonly
    # /opt/score/bin/eit -nisonly
