SCore Binary Module Extraction and Installation

If you have an SCore Version 5.8.1 CD-ROM, you will find rpm files under the /mnt/cdrom/score.rpm/ and under the /mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS/ directories.

1. Binary Module Extraction
   

   We assume that SCore binary rpm files will be downloaded under the /opt/score.work directory on the server host.

   • Basic Component
     

     You should download the following rpm files as the minimum component in which contains SCore linux kernel, PM libraries and drivers, SCore global operating system, MPC++ multi-thread template library, and utilities:

     In addition to the baisc binary rpm files, the following rpm files are required to install MPICH-SCore.

   • PVM-SCore
     

     In addition to the baisc binary rpm files, the following rpm files are required to install PVM-SCore.

   • Omni OpenMP on SCASH
     

     In addition to the baisc binary rpm files, the following rpm files are required to install Omni OpenMP on SCASH.

     Omni-openmp-common-5.8.1-1.i386.rpm	Omni-openmp-intel-5.8.1-1.i386.rpm
     Omni-openmp-gnu-5.8.1-1.i386.rpm	Omni-openmp-pgi-5.8.1-1.i386.rpm

   • TACO
     

     In addition to the baisc binary rpm file, the following rpm files are required to install the TACO C++ template library:

     score5.8.1-taco-5.8.1-1.i386.rpm

   • PBS
     

     In addition to the baisc binary rpm files, the following rpm files are required to install PBS. You need to register before installing the OpenPBS. See the release note.

   • Benchmark programs
     

     To install our benchmark programs, needs the following rpm file:

     score5.8.1-bench-5.8.1-1.i386.rpm

     Note that the NAS parallel benchmark (NPB) binary tar file is located under the /mnt/cdrom/NPB directory.

2. Binary Module Installation
   

   After downloading RPM files under the /opt/score.work on the server host, then execute the following commands:

   	# cd /opt/score.work
   	# ./bininstall -server
   

   bininstall will install several daemon programs and startup scripts. For instance, the following files will be installed for the daemon settings in addition to installation of several administration commands:

   	/etc/rc.d/init.d/scoreboard
   	/etc/rc.d/init.d/msgbserv
