SCOUTD(8)
NAME
scoutd - scout daemon process for invoking remote process

SYNOPSIS
scoutd hostgroup

DESCRIPTION
scoutd is a daemon process for scout to spawn remote processes on cluster hosts. scoutd only accpets the request from the previous hosts in the order of specified hostgroup. Thus scoutd requires a host group described the scorehosts.db file to obtain the previous host.

Since the very first host in the specified hostgroup is not needed to run scoutd, in this case, scoutd simply terminates and no daemon process is invoked.

To invoke arbitrary user process, scoutd must have root permission.
