My idea was first to try to patch the "official" SCore kernel, 2.4.18-3 
with the patch provided. If it works (as in if there are no rejects and 
the kernel compiles cleanly), then I would go further and try the patch on 
2.4.18-17.

Uh, is your system crashing every 5-12 hours ??? We also have some 
problems here on the HELICS cluster using 5.0.1, but as there are 
also some hardware problems, we can't point the finger at SCore...
