Do I need to set an IP address on a second interface ?
I have not done so. The eth1 is just "up" with no IP.
However there are lots of packet errors when running a job
(Score 5.6.1 on RedHat 9):
[sccomp @ comp09 sccomp]$ /sbin/ifconfig eth1
eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:30:48:73:4C:F4
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:2451492578 errors:17450610 dropped:17449692
overruns:0 frame:479
TX packets:2530581438 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
RX bytes:415335495 (396.0 Mb) TX bytes:1040920321 (992.6 Mb)
Base address:0xc400 Memory:fe8c0000-fe8e0000
There are also many errors using cat /proc/pm/ethernet/1/info
Maybe this is a hardware problem (eg bad network switch) ?
Nick
