Ok I have rebuilt libbfd.a  (static lib) on the Xeon main server and
recompiled Score 5.4 (score and mpi) from source.

Everything is working fine on the Xeon nodes. 

scored.exe seems to have ia64 symbols:

However I still have the same error:

The itanium01 bin.ia64-redhat-linux2_4 directories are mounted on the Xeon server as well.
