it went through.

I did the command and as you suggested, it seems to be
cn40.

1. The hosts.equiv on cn40 does include stokes :

[root ＠ cn40 root]# cat /etc/hosts.equiv

cn3.clumeq.mcgill.ca

2. SSH access works fine.

3.1 scoutd stoped and started again. 

[root ＠ stokes init.d]# ./scoutd stop   
Shutting down scout daemon:                           
    [  OK  ]
[root ＠ stokes init.d]# ./scoutd start
Starting scout daemon:                                
    [  OK  ]
[root ＠ stokes init.d]# cd ..

3.2 cat /etc/securetty

[root ＠ stokes etc]# cat securetty

vc/2
vc/3
vc/4
vc/5
vc/6
vc/7
vc/8
vc/9
vc/10
vc/11
tty1
tty2
tty3
tty4
tty5
tty6
tty7

Then I tried to see if restarting the daemons had any
effect :

[root ＠ stokes init.d]# ./scoreboard start
Starting scoreboard services:                         
    [  OK  ]
[root ＠ stokes init.d]# scout -g cn
SCOUT: Spawning cn38.clumeq.mcgill.caPermission
denied.
[root ＠ stokes init.d]#

--->> No change <<-----


Would pushing the image back again change something in
your opinion ?
