[Mckernel-users 28] Question about McKernel

I successfully installed McKernel and executed tutorials by "mcexec"!
Thanks for your help.


I have some questions about concepts of McKernel.

As I read paper titled, "Interface for Heterogeneous Kernels: A Framework
to Enable Hybrid OS Designs targeting High Performance Computing on
Manycore Architectures"(I can see your name!), Linux(CentOS) and McKernel
work as master-slave relationship.

1. What events happens when I run simple executable file a.out as "$mcexec
./a.out"? Load application to Mckernel -> create "ghost process" to the
master side -> run application on cores which McKernel installed ->
communicate with ghost process if some linux feature is needed. Is it right?

2. How can I know which cores and how many cores which installed McKernel?

3. Have you ever run NAS parallel benchmark in MPI version? There is
experimental results by this benchmark on the paper.
